March 2015, London, United Kingdom
Multi-disciplinary HR specialist and ABS, Abbiss Cadres, has announced the appointment of well-known career pension lawyer, Gary Cullen, as a Partner.
Gary Cullen was previously a lead Pensions Partner at two leading UK law firms for over sixteen years before leaving practice in late 2013.
Gary joins Abbiss Cadres on his return to practice after a short period as Director and Head of Strategy and, latterly, Chairman, of a London based Property Investment Company which he had helped to found many years earlier.
Gary advises UK and overseas clients on all aspects of UK pensions law, is a regular conference speaker and has addressed numerous professional audiences as well as appearing on BBC Radio programmes such as “Wake Up to Money” and “Drive Time” talking about topical pensions issues. Gary is also a published author on pensions law and practice and has contributed articles and comment to professional magazines and the UK press.
Gary brings a highly significant offering to Abbiss Cadres’ burgeoning professional services firm client list, giving them access to pensions expertise in a unique one stop offering along with share schemes, employment law, domestic and international employment taxation, and immigration law, as well its wider communications and consulting offerings. Gary will also be offering the firm’s UK and overseas corporate clients advice on a wide range of pensions issues from strategic approaches to auto enrolment, and pension scheme liability management, to meeting employer obligations raised by pensions liberation among his wider pensions practice.
New Partner Gary Cullen commented:
“Abbiss Cadres offers a unique proposition not only to corporate clients looking at one expert provider to meet their UK and international HR-related needs, but also for the increasing number of professional services firms who outsource these specialist areas of HR law and tax expertise to enable them focus on their core services. It is this that marks the firm out in a crowded marketplace. It is an attractive offering for clients and that is what attracted me to Abbiss Cadres.”
Abbiss Cadres’ Managing Partner, Guy Abbiss, added:
“Gary offers the firm’s clients access to the kind of highly experienced specialist expertise in a key HR-related area that the firm excels in. He fills a space that we have long been looking to fill in our multi-disciplinary offering, and one which we have repeatedly been asked for over the years. Pensions lawyers of Gary’s ability and experience are extremely hard to come by and we are very pleased to welcome him.”
