  • Communications

Neil has 25 years’ experience in senior roles in the creative and media sector where he has a consistent record of achievement in brand development, strategic planning, communications management (internal and external) and proposition/product development.

He has strong experience of delivering branding, acquisition, retention and employee communications activity across all channels (online and offline) which he is able to bring to bear for our corporate clients.

Given the increasing prevalence of remote working, and the growing recognition of the importance of the ’employer brand’, Neil has experienced a significant uplift in the demand for an internal communications specialism, and has been engaged on a number of significant assignments for substantial brands such as UBS, EY and Direct Line, encompassing both digital and traditional channels.

Neil started his career in the marketing department of a global insurer but left after three years to establish a communications consultancy specialising in financial services, with two industry colleagues. In 10 years, they grew the business to over 100 people, becoming the largest specialist FS agency in Europe.

In 1996, the business was acquired by Publicis, one of the world’s largest communications groups. He spent eight years at Publicis as a strategy director, working on a wide range of brands and sectors such as Renault, Asda, UBS, Fidelity, Ericsson, EY and MFI.

In 2004, in search of P&L responsibility, Neil left Publicis to pursue client-side marketing directorships, first at insurer MORE TH>N (part of the Royal SunAlliance Group) and then at the Post Office’s joint venture with Bank of Ireland, responsible for all aspects of its financial services offering.

In 2009, he rejoined the communications industry as a strategy director at WPP for three years and, since then, has been acting as a consultant. He is a frequent conference speaker and contributor to advertising, business and financial publications.
